From my POV, VwCON4 did not go all that well. I was very happy to have greenbear and markhodgkinson volunteer to GM tournaments. I was disappointed there weren't more signups and apparently the events themselves didn't actually happen due to lack of participation. Similarly, preregs and participation were pretty sparse.
I suspect part of the problem may have been due to not enough lead time (I think from announcement to gamecon was about 3 weeks and online event submission and registration wasn't in place until the week before the vCON). Do you agree? I did post an ad via google adwords for about a week to help promote it - did anyone see it? Is there any value in doing this in the future? Is there something else we need to change with the website or otherwise to help facilitate these events?
So there's my opinion. What say you?

Thanks Rick for your efforts here! I too was disappointed with the lack of preregs. I think all the advertising that could have been done, was. We both posted to BGG and I posted on the Memoir forums as well. The lack of response was simply underwhelming!
Ironically...come the Saturday there were all kinds of players on the boards! I played at least 5 different players myself!
So why didn't anyone actually sign up? Perhaps it was the time of year? Perhaps it was trying to get a tournament in on just one day (although, I did offer the week leading up to it and didn't get any better response)? I honestly don't know...and never got much of an indication as to why not either?
I will support again, the tourney in the winter and hope that maybe with enough lead time and perhaps a tournament schedule that can be played out in the month(?) prior might be enough to get people on board.
